Sammy’s PizzaSammy’s Pizza Contact: Tony Jerulle
Homemade sauce with a secret mix of seasonings. Dough made fresh every morning. Specialty meats and real mozzarella cheese. The sounds of crisp crust being cut into perfect bite-sized squares. That’s what you’ll find a Sammy’s Pizza kitchen.
While working in the iron mines in the 1950′s, Sam Perrella learned about pizzas from war veterans who raved about them following their service in Italy. Eventually, he took a trip to Chicago to see what they were all about and how they were made. In 1954, after a great deal of experimentation and sauce recipe development, Sam and his wife, Louise, moved their small café in Keewatin to Hibbing, MN and Sammy’s Pizza was born.
Today, there are fifteen Sammy’s Pizza locations — all owned and operated by family members and close friends of the Perrella family – that still use the same great recipes that were developed more than 62 years ago by Sam Perrella in Hibbing, MN.
In 2015, PMQ Pizza Magazine, the pizza industry’s No. 1 publication, inducted Sammy’s into its Pizza Hall of Fame — which pays tribute to popular pizzerias in business for 50 years or longer.
Take a look around our site, and you soon will find that we make so much more than great pizza – we make works of art inspiring traditions with family and friends, as well as in the community.

About W.W. Thompson Concrete Products
Four generations of the Thompson family have worked to provide north central Minnesota with the highest quality concrete masonry units. During that time, we’ve developed an in-depth knowledge of the industry—what construction professionals need and how to work with all types of masonry products—concrete, block, stone, paving stone, earthworks, retaining walls, and landscape materials. The cornerstones of our success are our exceptional service and our commitment to combining extensive industry knowledge with the latest state-of-the-art technology.
No job is too big or too small. Literally.
With sales offices and manufacturing plants in Brainerd and Park Rapids we can handle large commercial projects. Yet we are also here to help the do-it-yourselfer. If you’re building your own basement or need a garden retaining wall, we’re here to help. We’ve recently designed an on-site display area, so stop by anytime to see how the blocks and paving stones look when they are installed.
With over a century in business, our commitment to offering top-quality products and the best customer service has not changed. Like the concrete block and landscape products we manufacture, W.W. Thompson Concrete Products just gets better and stronger with age.

Choosing a Residential WaterFurnace Comfort System Is Simply Smarter
WaterFurnace manufactures and sells more geothermal systems for homes than anyone else in the business. Why? Because we offer a wide variety of residential geothermal products. Our dealers and installers are the most highly trained in the industry. And we are wholeheartedly committed to customer support. All that makes us the first—and smartest—choice for a residential WaterFurnace system: the system that’s “Smarter from the Ground Up.”
Geothermal vs. Ground Water vs. Water Furnace
Geothermal energy has been used to heat and air condition buildings for several decades, and, during that time, these geothermal systems have been called many different things. Some of the more popular variations include geo-thermal, geoexchange, ground-water, ground-water assisted, ground-water-source, water-to-water, and even our company name, water furnace heating and cooling.
All of these terms, though, convey the same thought: use of geothermal heat pump technology to tap the energy in the earth’s surface and drive a heating and air conditioning system for both residential and commercial uses. The result is a green or natural heat pump that saves energy and benefits the environment.
